About

Did you take an economics class in school? Maybe you have fond memories of those beautiful graphs and equations that provided elegant and simple answers to our economic questions! You may remember a professor who said, “We study positive economics in this class; the study of how things are, not how they should be; that would be normative economics.”

Of course, the real world often involves questions about “how things should be.” Life involves value judgments, accompanied by questions about ecology, human dignity and human rights, ethics, and spirituality.

This blog comes to you from Oklahoma City, and we will sometimes highlight the quirky but lovable characteristics of Oklahoma. If you live in a state with an agricultural or oil patch heritage, you will, no doubt, notice some similarities!

If you want some food for thought about the complexity of questions that involve economics, but can’t be settled with the simple, albeit elegant, methods found in economic theory, then this blog is intended for you.
